His composition, "It All Goes By So Fast", recorded by Ray Charles and Mary J. Blige for the  "Genius and Friends" album, has become a wedding standard.

Rabbi Jay has officiated at weddings throughout the United States and the world, for couples of every background. Whether Ashkenazic, Sephardic, Persian, Israeli, Russian, Traditional, et al, he provides just the right ceremony, custom-tailored for each couples needs and desires. As a teacher of the popular "Making Marriage Work" course at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, Rabbi Jay has helped hundreds of couples prepare for their weddings. Through meetings and written work, he gets to know the couples as individuals and they get to know him. He is active as a counselor as well as officiant and helps to smooth out any bumps in the road that might occur during those often tension-filled weeks before the special day..

Rabbi Jay has been honored with many awards for his work, including, among others, the Parents' Choice Gold Award, the Parents® Magazine Prize, the L.A. Times "Best Of The Year".
 

Rabbi Jay Levy earned his B.A., cum laude, from Queens College, and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the New York University School of Law. He received  Rabbinical Ordination from the Rabbinical Academy in New York and most recently served as the Senior Rabbi of Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel in Los Angeles.

Rabbi Jay is available to officiate at life-cycle events including baby namings, bar and bat mitzvahs, funerals and unveilings. As a sought after cruise ship lecturer, he has "infotained" audiences around the world. He can speak to your group on a wide variety of informative and entertaining topics and is also a warm and engaging musical performer.
